Chris skarstad AKA Toonhead passed away last night.
I'm pretty sure he had a second account. I noticed the first one was disabled.
People who know Chris know he was a caring, funny, and creative guy. He was also one of the most genuine people I ever met. What you saw was what you got with Chris. there was no backstabbing or lying. He was an honest dude.
Chris. You will be missed by all of us down here. Thanks for the sixteen years of friendship.

I saw this posted on applevis this morning, and again on fb. I didn't really know him, but I know that a lot of people on here did, and my thoughts are with those who knew him and were close to him. may god lift you all up in keep your chins up through this time. RIP

I saw this on AppleVis as well, but was hoping it was wrong. TO my dismay, it wasn't. Chris was one of the first people I interacted with who is blind online. This was back in 2002 when I started using Winamp, and he ran the winamp4theblind mailing list. I know he had a rough time at the end, I just hope he's now in peace with no pain. He will be very much missed!

He was one of the first, to welcome me to this site. He was really cool. I liked that he didn't come on to me, like a lot of people would have. He was just cool, and wanted to know who I was.
R.I.P.

I first saw this on apple vis while browsing to see what was new or interesting. I've not spoken to him personally in awhile, but I respected the work he did in the accessibility community. However he died, its always going to be sad, and even on the phone lines, people are dying more than we can count. Hopefully, those who knew him more than I can find peace knwing however he died, he is feeling better now.
